18th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Altered Images
Ipê-rosa III

Impressions These artworks are influenced by the Impressionist movement. Diluted images and an imposing nature guide the first impression. Like the Impressionists’ oeuvre, there is in these photographs loose layers of colors, a characteristic pattern of the movement, where the contours and details are no more important than the work as a whole; where the harmony of the colors are more valued; where a perfect balance is always sought; in short, the harmony of the work as a whole. The pictorial style of the artwork was obtained through interventions in the camera.
