Iquitos

The District of Belen is located within the extensive construction of the city of Iquitos. Belen is one of the most populated in the city. It is one of the fecal areas of the city and its water supply is used mostly by children. The neighborhood has a Type C consideration with a high degree of poverty. This neighborhood grew out of the emerging trade of this port, and looking for this activity settled directly on the water. The neighborhood is located in the former mouth of the Itaya River, and the houses are built on rafts on the calm waters of this tributary. The city of Iquitos is the capital of the department of Loreto, Peru and founded by Spanish settlers in 1757 with the name of San Pablo de Napalenos, it was the first river port of the Amazon.
