Irrigating Sweet Corn in Central Indiana
We experienced a very dry summer here in Central Indiana this year. This is how my neighbor combated the drought by irrigating his very large sweet corn operation, My Dad's Sweetcorn. He has a very large pond at his home about a quarter mile away from this particular field. He pumps water from the pond through an underground tile that he accesses in the field to move water through the irrigation system. I drove by one beautiful June afternoon while the system was operating, so I stopped to capture this ingenious method in action!
