Isis

‘Mystical Mothers’ Photographer Marianne Larochelle explores the archetypes and symbols that inhabit the depths of women’s psyche. In our modern age, we carry a certain confusion from having lost the stories of humanity. A woman needs to know and be allowed to express all of herself, whether that be the rage of Kali , the sweetness of the Virgin Mary, the banished disobedience of Lillith or the sacred Magic of Isis. The myths, the fairy tales, the allegories of ancient civilizations have left deep imprints that never cease to inspire and influence us in the hidden layers of our being. Growth comes from the remembering, seeing and giving voice to those hidden parts and embracing those deeper currents and forces within .
