Island Cow

The grave and profound deforestation produced over the last decades all over the Paraná River watershed, particularly in Chaco, Santa Fe and Entre Ríos, as a result of the expansion of agriculture, has intesified the use of the region's wetlands as grazing fields for cattle. The agricultural and farming production introduced thousands of livestock units and breading horses which are victims of the very financial speculation that put them there. These changes are drastically modifying the normal functioning of the islands' ecosystems, and the ones who suffer the most are the different animals that live there, wether they are local or the ones introduced as 'profitable goods'.
