In West Maui you can see the sun set between Lanai and Kahoolawe. The island of Lanai can be seen to the right of the setting sun. Growing up on the East Coast, I was always limited to seeing the sun rise, but always determined to see the sun set. As the sun slipped into the endless Pacific Ocean, my eyes looked to capture its brilliance and bring it back with me to the East Coast.
