Isolation
Our 9 year old son has had multiple, life threatening seizures this year. He has a disability, uncontrolled epilepsy and is non speaking. The shower is his safe space, his space to feel the water, to calm his boy and his mind. Each time I stand in the doorway and check on him the water droplets remind me of tears, a shedding of his painful experiences, it gives me a sense of his isolated world and perhaps too, reflects the silence he lives in.
