This picture was taken in a rural village in the Toledo District of Belize. I was volunteering for Hillside Health Care International, a nonprofit that provides medical care, disease prevention, and health education to the local communities that do not otherwise have access. During this overnight, mobile-clinic trip it rained so hard that the river overflowed and we were not able to cross. This gave us time to explore and how other cultures, just like our group, have tried to help this village. Included here is a solar panel donated by the Japanese government as part of a clean energy project.
