"Jaws" the Carpenter Bee
This is a male carpenter bee in flight. I nicknamed him "Jaws" for the large yellow mouthparts you seen in the photo (females do not have these yellow mouthparts). He was flying around my home, fiercely defending his territory as they do that time of the year.
