Jelly fungus (Dacryopinax spathularia) growing on an old shipping pallet
The photo is that of a so-called jelly mushroom. Such fungi have gelatinous fruiting bodies, hence the name. The colony in the photo was growing out of an abandoned shipping pallet that had been left out of doors for years. It had rained heavily the previous two days. Two days after the photo was taken, the mushrooms had withered and lost their color.
