Joanne's Iris

My dear friend, Joanne, died and I inherited some of her iris bulbs. This one (she called it a Japanese Iris), was her favorite. The flower is a striking purple color and delicate form - almost like an orchid. I transplanted the bulbs from her garden into mine and this flower bloomed the first year. I always think of my friend when I look at this photo.
