Jorabin
Jorabin, sometimes also called ‘Jorab-bazi’ or ‘Gorwa-bazi,’ is one of the traditional folk games of the Kurdish people. This game is common in Kurdish regions of Iran, especially in provinces such as Kurdistan and West Azerbaijan (notably in areas like Somaq e Bradost, Silvana, and the villages around Urmia). According to reports, the game was traditionally played at night and during the colder seasons autumn and winter in warm gatherings of youths or families, and it has survived to this day. Today, Jorabin is not merely a pastime but is considered part of the intangible cultural heritage of Kurdish regions a symbol of intergenerational connection, local creativity, and a deep sense of belonging to the land.
