Seeing a sunflower in any circumstance always brings a smile to my face. They capture life's essence perfectly. In the peak of their life, they are vibrant, lovely, and full of joy. This particular sunflower was photographed at the peak of its growing season and I feel that it captures the joy of life. I was walking in my garden one late afternoon and I noticed it growing among some strawberries. It was about my height and I could look straight into its joyful face. I felt as if, for that small moment in time, everything was right in the world and joy had overtaken my heart.
