17th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World
Just a sitting snail

I was observing how the snail was moving on the grass, and at some point it stopped, sat down and started looking around. I've captured that moment as it's the first time when I saw that snails can sit, and its behaviour was very human-like, sitting and looking around to the left and right. It shows that snails can also be interested in surroundings around them, not just moving and searching for food.
