14th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World
Kalapana, Hawaii Lava Flow Ocean Entry Point
Biked out to the 61g Lava Flow ocean entry located on the Big Island of Hawai'i. (8 Mile round trip). As the people trickled away, two German tourists began experimenting with their own night shots. I made some new friends, and happened to capture this moment in the process.
