Kali Puja is a Hindu festival that takes place on the same day or the day before Diwali, and is dedicated to the goddess Kali: When it takes place Kali Puja is celebrated on the new moon day of the Hindu month of Kartik, which usually falls in October or November. It sometimes takes place on the same day as Diwali, or the day before. What it symbolizes Kali Puja symbolizes the triumph of good over evil, and the victory of light over darkness. How it's celebrated Kali Puja is celebrated with prayers, offerings, and colorful decorations. Devotees worship the goddess Kali, who is a powerful form of Durga. Where it's celebrated Kali Puja is especially celebrated in the eastern states of India, and is the second most popular Hindu festival for Bengalis. Diwali is a five-day festival that's celebrated with bright lights, burning incense, and sumptuous meals. Families come together to celebrate, and eat lots of food, especially sweets. Diwali Puja and Kali Puja may fall on the same day sometimes, but the latter might fall one day before Diwali Puja.
