At pre-dawn, an amazing set of sun's rays came over the horizon. I was on a dock on the Wicomoco River, MD at my friend's 100 year old farmhouse with my dog. Kayleigh must have sensed the wonder of it all and sat quietly watching the sunrise over the water. This was where I met her four years earlier for the first time and soon thereafter adopted her. I believe the she was heaven-sent to me exactly one year after my Mom had passed to help me recover from grief. I feel that the spectacular display of the individual rays was coming to us both, my dog and me, that morning to let us know that we were in the presence of God.
