18th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest People
keep me accompany
I took this photo on a nice afternoon in the summer of 2020. Because of the covid-19, the busy streets in the past have become deserted. People walking on the street kept a social distance. The boundaries between people have been clearer than ever. But suddenly an old couple appeared in front of me, their hands kept on each other's shoulders, never separated. Time seemed to stop on them. The power of accompany and trust stayed moved me a lot. I can't help to think how beautiful it is to find someone then keep each other accompany until we all get old. No matter what happened outside the world we know we have each other.
