Having crossed a few hours back, dead wildebeest bodies lay in the shallow river. Most likely there are casualties when crossing finishes. Vultures are attracted to dead bodies like a magnet. I found this white backed vulture on a wildebeest carcass with its wings fully spread. This looked like a warning to other vultures to keep away.
