Kids having a good time on a homemade roller board in Tuting, Arunachal Pradesh, NE India

In the far Northeast corner of India lies the state of Arunachal Pradesh under the shadow of the Eastern Himalayas. Rain fed dense forests covering the countless green valleys cut across by rivers big and small make road building quite a challenge here. Consequently places like this one are reached by a back breaking journey of sixteen hours spread over two days. Tuting is the southern gateway to the mystic and holy region of Pemako, revered as a holy site among Tibetan Buddhists.
