Episode 31 of Kīlauea's ongoing summit eruption occurred on August 22, 2025. During the eruption, an inclined lava fountain erupted from the north vent, shooting out at a 45-degree angle. The inclined fountains were compared to similar events in the 1959 Kīlauea Iki and 1969 Maunaulu eruptions.
