Kingfisher takeoff

Different phases of the flight pattern of a Eurasian kingfisher (Alcedo atthis) taking off from a dead branch. Kingfishers are known to be lightning-fast flyers and it was formerly quite a challenge to shoot their takeoff. Fortunately, state-of-the-art technologies render this task much easier.
