12th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World

Snæfellsnes is the largest peninsula of Iceland. A mountain range runs in east-west direction over the entire length. Near the town Grundarfjörður there is the striking mountain Kirkjufell and the waterfall Kirkjufellsfoss.
