I have known these young women for a while. They are high school students, athletes, and all live on the Cheyenne River Reservation, in South Dakota. As on many Reservations across North America, teenagers here are three and a half times as likely to commit suicide to other groups. These young women are just as strong as the force of the storm behind them.
