Kyla is a professional contortionist and performer who channels animal shapes as inspiration for her movement. We both fell in love with this vintage chair, which I painted copper, but it was very difficult to maneuver around. She wound up in this chest stand and made it appear somehow far more serene than it felt. This image was taken in the warehouse where my husband and I own and operate a circus aerial school.
