When the alfalfa is ready to bale, it doesn't matter if it's Labor Day and I'm hosting a family get together! We just make it part of the holiday festivities, much to the delight of my five grandchildren! With rain predicted the very next day, we had two hay balers going, and the entire cutting tucked safely in the barn by dark! The kids loved the excitement!
