Ladakhi horseman.

There is little gainsaying in stating that tourism industry is about the only industry in Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh and with frequent political turbulence rocking the region, the locals seek to make the best of earning from the tourists as and when possible. I was busy training my camera at the shores of Pangong Tso lake when this horseman came trotting by with his none too impressive beast and made an earnest plea for me to take a ride. New Delhi, where I live has a poisonous air, and by any standard the natural environment in Ladakh seemed divinely ordained. But the filter mask this horseman wore told a different story. Well, if Mt. Everest can be turned into a garbage dump, the worsening quality of air in Ladakh shouldn’t be that surprising.
