Laguna Colorada

Flamingos im Laguna Colorada, a red/orange lagoon in the high Bolivian Andes. At 4,500m (approx, 14,000ft) altitude, this salt water lagoon is home to thousands of flamingos. The local folklore suggests that the water is the blood of the gods, though its color is actually created by red sediments and algae in the water.
