During a winter of record warmth a cold snap in February froze part of Lake Superior in a perfectly smooth sheet of ice. The local community tired from an extended time with no local social events due to COVID came out in droves to play on the slippery field. There is a very active community of skaters and hockey players in the area who also took advantage of this unique opportunity.
