Lake Nakuru Flood
Hoping to see up to a million flamingos, we opted to add Lake Nakuru to our safari itinerary in Kenya. When we arrived, we were informed that the lake experienced floods and the alkalinity was affected, so fewer algae were present, meaning fewer flamingos. What we did see though was a beautiful scene with trees in the middle of the calm lake, looking very out of place.
