Lake Superior Sea Smoke
Subzero air temperatures and the comparatively warmer water of Lake Superior can combine to create sea smoke due to evaporative cooling. The air temperature was around -16F during this shoot. It was mesmerizing to watch the sea smoke gracefully glide and swirl across the surface of the lake, as if performing on a grand dance floor.
