Lake Superior Sea Smoke

Subzero temperatures and the open water of Lake Superior created abundant sea smoke (a/k/a steam devils) before sunrise. The Aerial Lift Bridge and lighthouses stand as beacons and the Polsteam ship "Iryda" awaits at anchor among the steam. At 15 below Fahrenheit, there was abundant evaporative cooling of this Great Lake.
