Lake Superior Sunrise
I was blessed for a year to live right off Lake Superior in Duluth, MN. Almost every morning, whatever the weather, I would make a a cup of coffee and walk down to a little stone beach and watch the sun rise out of the lake. It was always an extraordinary experience and I started taking my camera with me to share with others at least the images of what I saw, never able to share the yawning greatness of the biggest lake in the world, the wind and the eagles calling and the taste of the clean air. The way light and water interact over Lake Superior's clear and cold depths has no parallel. And this morning, as the mist rose from the cold Superior waters to the colder air above, as the sun broke the horizon, it became...this.
