My now husband and I cycled across the United States, from Freeport, ME, to San Francisco, CA during the summer of 2015. Alone and self-supported, we journeyed across 5600 miles of our beautiful country. The trip included stunning views, friendly people, and long days that were sometimes draining, sometimes exhilarating. We were left with an appreciation and awe of America's natural and varied landscape. The trip also ingrained in us a love for cycling, a form of sustainable travel, and all that it offers - exercise, fresh air, and new sights and sounds.
