Lanterns for Remembrance
In Hawaii, Memorial Day is commemorated by the Lantern Floating Festival dedicated to departed loved ones. The canoe in the ceremony reminded me of legends of a ferryman escorting the passed to the afterlife and the lanterns representing their souls.
