Mali came to America in the wake of the 1970s bombings from Laos; Victor is Puerto Rican. They each went through a loss of love before they found each other. They had two weddings, back to back. The first was traditional Laotian, the second American. Their food was larb, plantains, sticky rice, and black beans. The mixture of love and cultures is truly American.
