Larches, living and dead

While hiking in the cascade mountains, I was greeted by this view of larches, both alive (foreground) and dead (on the hill), which reminded me of the perpetual cycle of life and death for all organisms. In addition to that, the gloomy mood and earthy colors made it photo-worthy for me.
