Lassen Volcano

The golden light over Lassen Volcano reflected on Manzanita Lake. This volcano is the largest plug dome volcano in the world. The last eruption was on May 22, 1915. While this beautiful place looks calm now; steam vents, boiling springs, and bubbling mud pots remain active at the base of the mountain; a direct evidence that the volcanic forces still at work for the next eruption.
