Leaning Tower of Burano

No, It's Not the Leaning Tower of Pisa This is the Leaning Tower of Burano, an island off Venice. It's formal name is the Campanile Storto di Burano, and it part of the Church of San Martino. It was built between 1703 and 1714, and is 53 meters (178 feet)tall. The bell tower is built on marshy land, and due to the land's gradual settling, it now is inclined 1.83 meters (5.9 feet). My tour guide blamed the architect who designed the tower for the storto, or crookedness, of the tower.
