Least tern chicks charge toward food.

Least terns are federally endangered. The largest colony of nesting least terns in Maine are on Stratton Island. The colony had over 160 nests and fledged 50-60 terns by August. These tern chicks mainly fed on hake brought in by their parents during the summer.
