Let a smile be your Pumpkin on a rainy day
When I shot this picture through the window of these two female purple finches on our backyard feeder it was drizzling cold rain! I thought the Halloween pumpkin brought some colorful cheer to the dreary background scene. I had never hung it on the stand before this, as I didn't know how the wild birds would react to the smiling face watching them as they eat. I was pleasantly surprised that they loved it as it kept their adversaries, the squirrels off the feeder temporarily, who gave the pumpkin face an askance look until they figured out that it was just a prop! The purple finch on the left appeared like it was dancing for joy in the rain!
