Let It Bee
Together with many Americans, I have been following the plight of our declining population of bees---one of our most critical pollinators. On a perfect summer day, I followed the flight of one persistent bee on its pollination journey through a field of sunflowers, going from one sunflower head to the next, gathering pollen and nectar. It landed just in time for me to grab this shot, and to observe its magnificence and importance to our food supply. Let it bee.
