let's get physical

Let's get physical. Hanging a spoon from your nose. A classic trick we've all surely done at one point in our life. But what's the science behind it? The answer is some basic properties of physics - gravity, friction and adhesion. Most notably your breath deposits a very thin layer of water molecules when you breathe on to the spoon prior to placing it on your nose. This thin layer of water can act somewhat "adhesive" like in nature and decrease the chance of the spoon slipping from your nose.
