At the top of this mountain in the XIII-XV centuries was the fortress city of Mangup, the capital of the Orthodox principality of Theodoro. Nowadays, the Annunciation Male Monastery is located here. Due to the difficult walking distance, the place is not crowded. There is no electricity in the monastery, you have to stock up on firewood for the winter, and you have to walk 2 km to get water.
