This was taken in August 2021 in the Masai Mara in Kenya. These young cheetah cubs are learning how to hunt and kill prey. Their mother brought down a female impala. Afer watching for about 45min I noticed one of the cubs picking at something. Shortly after all three cubs pulled out a unborn impala fetus. They took turns biting at the neck as if to practice where to clamp down on the in order to make the kill. I saw these cubs back in 2020 when they were first coming out of the den. Although gruesome this was a welcoming sight to see knowing these cubs stand a chance at surviving in a harsh and cruel World.
