This photograph was taken at Disney’s Hilton Head Resort Island, walking the beach at the Palmetto Dunes Beach Park. It was the first time I saw the beach looking so deserted. The sand was blowing all over the beach. The lifeguard looked lonely, sitting in the chair, unrecognizable with the sunglasses and bright orange hooded jacket. The sky was overcast that day and the wind left the beach with stripes of fast moving sand.
