Light vs. Dark Inside Abu Simbel

The last stop on our Egyptian itinerary was Abu Simbel, about as far south as you can go down the Nile before crossing into Sudan. We saved the best for last. What makes it even more incredible is the fact that the entire massive monument was moved hundreds of meters inland, to avoid being submerged in and destroyed by the Nile. Stepping inside felt very special, knowing that so much effort went into its preservation.
