Lighthouse at Princes Pier, Melbourne

The sight of a lighthouse often reminds me of a saviour in the dark, erected and present in times of solace. In an unstable environment, the structure stands tall, omitting light to guide through your path. Spotted in Melbourne is 107 year old Princes Pier, standing at 580 meters long. When did similar navigational aids stop serving its purpose and began to write itself as history? This picture was taken amidst the strong pier winds and empty boardwalks of Port Phillip.
