The sustainable travel project means a lot to me. Its important everyone works together to keep this world pristine for future generaions Lighting striking the plume of halemaumau crater on the Big Island of Hawaii. I went to Hawaiian Volcanoes National park during one of the worst lighting storms we've ever had in Volcano Village. I was scared to get out of my car because the lighting was so severe but I new I would regret it if I didn't give it a shot. I setup my tripod and stayed as low to the ground as I possibly could. What I witness that night, I believe was a once in a life time experience. I was able to get a few shots off before the lighting moved on and the rain came in. This photo represents sustainable travel because millions of people visit this place each year and its pretty much still raw and untouched, just like it was thousands of years ago.
