Liminal Femininity
"Liminal Feminity" is an ongoing self-portrait series on a personal, intimate, subversive, and introspective journey questioning what it means to turn 40 years old whilst still resisting to fulfill societal expectations related to family, religion, reproduction, and beauty standards. The camera becomes a tool to suggest alternative narratives through multiple embodiments of an ambiguous, fluid feminity that is not bound to normative visual representations attached to gender binaries. A woman with a shaved head, a gaze reaching outwards, entangled hairy legs, and naked body oscillating the liminal space between desire and oblivion.
